Customer Reviews about Huddlestun Jeanine DDS

  • I can't speak for Ms. Shaw's review other than to say that my experience with this dentist was completely different. I went to Jeanine in December of 2016 to deal with what I thought would be a simple cavity fill, specifically because she was the only dentist I could find who was willing to accept Medicaid. On this visit I learned that, unfortunately, the cavity was so deep that it was just above the root and would require a root canal or extraction. The tooth behind it was damaged as well, though for that one a root canal would have been acceptable. As I dealt with the bad news (I'd never had a root canal or non-wisdom extraction before) I was a bit surprised that Jeanine and her assistant were so friendly and talkative. They walked me through my options and explained in detail why they felt that it would be better to just extract both teeth, since unlike a root canal it would be a simpler process and cost me nothing out of pocket. They also explained the possible dental appliances that I could get if I decided that I no longer liked my smile, though they pointed out that the missing teeth (right side, first molars) wouldn't be overly apparent unless I smiled very wide. I asked if they could do the extraction then and there but Jeanine wrote me a prescription for some pain meds and told me to come back since she didn't want to risk any pain or infection without the proper preparation first. I spent the next month dreading the extraction, fearing what would surely be intense pain and discomfort. I went in for the extraction a few days before Christmas, just wanting to get it over with. I'm not exaggerating when I say that it had to have been the most uneventful trip to a dentist that I'd ever had. I made sure Jeanine knew that I had sensitive teeth and was uncomfortable with dentists, so she talked me through the steps of the procedure as she performed them - what to expect, how things were going, etc. The numbing took all of five minutes and the actual extractions took even less. I think that I was literally in her building for less than ten minutes. I got the impression that Jeanine and her assistant suggested extraction over root canals based on an honest assessment of what was best for my finances as well as my overall dental health (she recommended against a root canal for the worse tooth, for example, because she explained that the tooth was so damaged that I could wind up undergoing the procedure only to potentially lose the tooth and have to get it pulled down the line anyway, costing me a pricey operation). As for the extractions themselves, I was stunned. I felt very little discomfort and absolutely no pain whatsoever. The removals were performed before I could even finish loading up a podcast on my ipod to distract me. I fear dentists because I always anticipate a long time in the chair, and lots of pain. With Jeanine I experienced neither.

She is terrible! I went in for tooth pain after being in er! She xrayed me she knew i had infection and hospital had given me meds..anyway she ignored my infection and she took me back to my room she numbed if you wanna call it that started to saw my tooth in half and i felt it she stopped waited like 5mins for it to numb up thrn started again i started screaming in pain and she continued to operate on me and said i had to deal with the pain. My mom had to come back cause she could hear me screaming in pain and crying and my mother started getting on to her and the lady assistance was being rude and they told her she wasn't allowed back there. So i had to else where get more meds and pain meds and pay $300 to get my tooth removed!
